Waller, Colin R (1954 - )

Colin Waller (1954 - ) was born in the East End of London know as Newham (formerly West Ham) and was introduced to music by the eminent concert pianist Edward Parker at the Newham Academy of Music. As a composer Colin studied with the late Richard Arnell (Tony to his friends) and was awarded a composition
Fellowship by Trinity in the summer of 1976. His submission for this award was a symphonic poem called "The Rock" for which the eminent composer, the late Dr Arnold Cooke was so gracious in his critique of the work. Since then he has amassed a considerable repertoire of songs and works in just about every genre of music including modern pop and rock.

In 1999 he received a commission from Southend Borough Council Arts department which resulted in his First Symphony. More recently a bout of ill health has led to him being house-bound and this has caused a rush of both revision of earlier works as well as new output which has included a 2nd Symphony, a Choral Requiem "Requiem Prayers" and this new Concerto for Horn. Colin lives in Devon and his musical children, Adam and Joanna.
