Cristina Henriques was born in Coimbra, Portugal in 1971. She completed her 8th grade in piano at the Porto Conservatory of Music. She has a degree in Painting from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto and a degree in Composition from the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo. She also has a Master's degree in Composition and another Master's degree in Music for Vocational Education/Music from the University of Aveiro.

Since 2001, she has been teaching music to children in various vocational schools in Porto. She was the pedagogical director of the Guilhermina Suggia Music School, for which she designed and developed training programmes and workshops with themes that bring together the two arts: painting and music.
As well as teaching, she has devoted herself to painting, writing and composing - essentially pieces for the early years of learning.
